Brambles ☂ Half-Gramme Holiday
~Bleary eyed, with mouths full of rain~
Check out this brilliant track from Brambles. “Half Gramme Holiday” is a stunning down-tempo track that appears to be the first release from a larger release of some kind but the album as a whole has yet to be released. If this track is any indication of the quality of the forthcoming album, I’ll tell you right now; I’m excited. “Half Gramme Holiday” is a gloomy humid hike through the foggy moss-engulfed wilderness beneath a rainstorm of introspective bliss. Anyone who can create an electronic track with this much scenic majesty and makes it feel this heartfelt and organic should be exceedingly proud of themselves.

Im a musician from Denver
What I post will never be the same as the last
Music should never be about what is trendy.
Music should be about what is INSPIRED and ARTFUL.
I urge you to broaden your horizons
and find beauty in something you might not be used to..

Howlings ☂ Detached
~Phantom longings~
Check out this thick and luscious track from San Francisco’s Howlings,
Which I copped from the always wonderful UnholyRhythms who has been doing her thing on the blogs for longer than myself. Which reminds me, StrangeFires just celebrated it’s 3 year anniversary as a music blog this week. I’ve always been grateful for you who read and listen to my fragmented ravings, as well as the utter train-wreck of different genre’s that I post on this blog. So, yeah. Thanks.
Anyway, really do listen to this wonderful piece of music.
“Detached” will suck you in and as your heart-rate slowly increases it will breathe you out in a dense haze of creme colored smoke and lets you drift off into the air until you dissolve into nothingness.

Dios Trio ☂ Mouse Trapeze
~You’ll get your sunshine~
Math-rock extraordinaires Dios Trio have a new song for you, from a compilation for Laflor Records. This band obviously hasn’t lost any touch with the style they are so phenomenal at making since their older masterpiece High On Bikes. ”Mouse Trapeze” encapsulates all the bittersweet melody your heart could desire and mixes it with brilliant spastic math-rock energy and speed to equal one short but beautifully effective musical combination.
If band’s like this are up your alley and you’ve never heard of Dios Trio; i strongly believe this band should be regarded as one of the best in the genre.. So show your friends<3

Tjutjuna ☂ Desert Song
~Alone on a mountain of sand, climbing stairs made of space~
Words cannot express the amount of blissful ecstacy that washes over me when I listen to the new sounds from the Denver psychedelic GODS Tjutjuna. It’s music like this that helps me relive every moment of expanded consciousness with or without mind altering substances.
They will be touring with the legendary Acid Mothers Temple in the spring and I cant wait to get my hands on the whole album tonight when they play at Lost Lake for five friggin bucks.
Go hit up the Firetalk records bandcamp page to order the digital or physical copy of their amazing album Westerner nowww
Flower Orgy ☂ Our Song
~Tangled specks of pale sunshine~
Thank fuckin Lucifer I’m back! I hate being away from writing this blog, but I won’t make a bunch of excuses as to why I havent been posting as of late. But today I’m posting a sunny little gem for you today.
Anyway this first act has/is/will always be a close competitor for my FAVORITE band name ever, Flower Orgy hails from San Francisco and makes light hearted sincerely lo-fi folk rock of the variety that resides on a tall SanFran rooftop under a pungent smoke cloud of panama red.
This song perfectly fit my visual of Jeff “The Dude” Lebowski below so they were my first choice of music to post for my return.
So here you are, a song that brought warmth to the cold colorado daylight and will keep you grinning till the spring blossoms explode.
The Our Song 7” will be released by the wonderful Firetalk records and check the Flower Orgy bandcamp for their other releases
After a month of obnoxious computer problems Im ready to get back to posting music again.
Fucking finally.

Teen Suicide ☂ Worthless
~Life under the bleachers~
Its not super often I post about the same artist twice in the same 2-3 month span but it’s even more unlikely that I would post about a group that often after their separation as a band.
Anyway, Teen Suicide(RIP) recently released a large album of their unreleased tracks, b-sides and rarities. It really is an astoundingly heartfelt album despite the large possibility it wasn’t compiled with much attention to track organization or with any specific flow as an album in mind. The album contains a wide array of styles and recording techniques including raw energetic garage recordings, soothing acoustic tracks recorded from rooftops, sleepy piano ballads as well as Sam Ray’s signature flair for emotive ambient music/interludes and even a Hank Williams cover.
It really does speak volumes about the caliber of these musicians creative fortitude if they can release an album of this size of their unreleased recorded material and have it be of THIS quality.
The whole thing definitely demands a good chunk of time to listen to in it’s entirety. This track “Worthless” in particular is an ecstatically bittersweet garage jam that definitely pulls on your highschool outcast heartstrings but in a timeless and meaningful way. Go download the album and listen to it in it’s entirety, if you do and havent heard this band before you’ll most likely be mourning the loss of Teen Suicide along with the rest of us who can appreciate the contribution this band has made to the music world how little or big a splash it ever truly makes.
Go grab the album from the Teen Suicide bandcamp now and also check out their other stellar releases.
Clipping ⚡ Killer ft Kill Rogers
~lashing of tongues~
Last week I received a music submission for a special LA Hip-Hop collective known as Clipping. What makes them something special you ask? This group combines a modern hip-hop style with grating abrasive harsh noise that is on earsplitting par with many HN heavyweights. Clipping just released a full length noise-hip-hop album entitled Midcity which is available for a price of your choosing. This track is definitely my favorite of the album vocally however a lot of the other tracks on Midcity are a lot more out there with straight forward noise tracks. Check out “Killer” and ingulf yourself in the the blindingly fast/hyper violent lyrics and the harsh static sonic vomit that is the odd entity known as Clipping.
Go hit up the Clipping website for all the links INCLUDING d/l links for the acapella and instrumental versions of Midcity
