Well, it took a really long ass time but Strange Fires finally went over 666 followers. 
Not exactly a big accomplishment in comparison to some of my other pals in the blogosphere but..
No matter how much passion and energy I spend on the writing, the visuals or the music selections for this blog gaining and maintaining followers will always be a struggle for someone who’s music blog’s theme is “No theme”.
Constantly throwing curveballs with music posts such as shoegaze to industrial, psych to breakcore, hip hop to black metal, down-tempo to noise music, chillwave to chiptune, ambient to grindcore.. The list goes on and on.
The point is that most people refuse to dig into all of these different styles and when they see it show up on their dashboard they click that unfollow button without giving it a second thought.
Hell, even the labelhead’s at Dead Oceans Records couldn’t understand how a kid who adores extreme metal could(or should) be playing with an indie band like Gauntlet Hair and saw fit to make a big stink about it.
As much as I do get off on weirding people out I primarily like to bring people together and strive to tear down walls and snide comments between legitimate music cultures.
                                Elitism is NOT Enlightenment.  
But as this blog gains notoriety; the more friends I make, the more amazing music I find, the more I grow as a person and definitely as an artist.
I absolutely love promoting these artists who deserve every bit of praise and support they receive and I’ve always been happy to play a part in that.
So this is for the blogs, artists and bands that have supported me since the beginning and also to the ones who are just recently developing interest; you people are why I do what I do and you absolutely rock my world. Amazing things are yet to come. <3
