Man I screwed up last weekend, I went on a bit of a gonzo-esque bender and managed to miss 2 of my friends album release parties/shows. One of which was the talented Neil Ewing aka GreenCarpetedStairs and his much anticipated self titled album was mixed/mastered by non other than Brian Marcus aka Samurai Buck who also did Gauntlet Hair(<3)! Anyway, greencarpetedstairs is an electronic project that has been around for a while now and I could not be more stoked to give this album some hype. The record is sultry, ethereal, dark, tropical, heartfelt, seductive and endearing.
Dark synths, tropical-esque grooves, carefully reserved experimental noises and ambience along with effected r&b inspired pitch corrected vocals.
Give it a listen and if you have the opportunity to catch greencarpetedstairs live feel free to come equip with consciousness expanding materials and groove out.
