Acretongue ☣ Émigré (part i & ii)
~another son of exile~
Another dark day in CO history… Hell of a world.. Thats all I’m going to say about that.
ANYWAYS, generally when I post Industrial music I try to keep it closer to the more vintage styled sound but this time I’m going to try something a bit different; a bit more modern. Normally I dont really gravitate to the glossier, newer sounding stuff because a TON of it sounds prettymuch EXACTLY the same. Same rhythm, same synth patches, same energy, same vibe, mildly different vocals and thats about it. Also, when I tend to post Industrial music I try to keep it pretty harsh and dissonant. Not far from noise or breakcore. None of this is the case with South African Industrial producer Acretongue, who’s album Nihil I listened to front to back about 3 times last night (between morbidly listening to live radio chatter from the aurora police department as the story developed). Acretongue makes a beautifully textured brand of melodic Industrial/EBM with simple but heavily processed vocal passages. However the thing about this project that I really adore above all is the restrained but ultimately brilliant production. He’s writing pieces that have a great mesh of dark synthetic melody and cold hard mechanical rhythms but even though the production is glossy it’s not necessarily the kind of production that’s made to really “go hard” on a club sound system at the usual goth club.. And I kinda like that.
Here’s another example of a really wicked track from Acretongue

Im a musician from Denver
What I post will never be the same as the last
Music should never be about what is trendy.
Music should be about what is INSPIRED and ARTFUL.
I urge you to broaden your horizons
and find beauty in something you might not be used to..
Love, Doran
