Former Selves ☂ Present variations/Future Nostalgia

Here’s 2 amazing tracks from awesome Oakland ambient drone act Former Selves.
If you’re involved in the Denver music scene and you attended the Gold Rush Festival this weekend then you may have caught Former Selves in the flesh. Unfortunately I wasnt able to make it this year but I’m sure with acts like Barn Owl, Echo Beds and Former Selves involved there’s little room to speculate whether it was an awesome time or not. Anyways, these tracks are quite minimal and airy but do carry a sense of rhythm. To me it sounds like melting snow falling off of trees onto the still frozen earth below, but in all honesty these tracks are certainly abstract enough to extract any sort of temperature, atmosphere or environment from them.
 
Take about ten minutes to enjoy these wonderful pieces of sculpted sound and then go ‘like’ the Former Selves facebook and check out more sounds on the Former Selves bandcamp
